With its proximity to the rich iron ore belt in the region and many other advantages, The Kalinganagar Industrial Complex is in effect the flag bearer for Orissa's renaissance and as such welcomed by the people of the State. Unfortunately though, owing to the adverse interference by several activists and groups with selfish motives, the so-called Kalinganagar controversy is being instigated on a regular basis, much to the detriment of the progress of projects. Many voices have been raised, some solitary, some in unison, against the Kalinganagar violence, as one gruesome incident follows another. People are clearly in favour of development and progress and want the man-made crisis to end once and for all. This section features the opinion of the people, their anguish against the anti-industrial activities and their mutual hope of seeing Orissa emerge as the future steel destination of the Country.
